Product Manager, Enterprise Product Line |

This company is currently seeking a Product Manager to define its product feature set and lead its efforts in the enterprise data analysis services market. The company makes products that represent the leading edge of content management, information identification and analysis technologies.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing a product and its feature set for a venture funded (start-up) company. Prior experience working in the areas of product management or sales and business development for the software and services industry is strongly preferred. Prior experience with technology related to unique data processing services and complex algorithms is also preferred.
A baccalaureate degree (Bachelor’s Degree) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Physics is desirable; the minimum educational credential is a baccalaureate in business, economics or a financial discipline. An MBA degree is highly desirable but not necessary.
Product Manager Enterprise Products Responsibilities:
- Defining customer requirements for product lines and representing these clearly and concisely to R&D and other organizations within the company. This is often called maintaining a “product roadmap” or functionality roadmap.
- Building cost models and maintaining profitability projections for various products and presenting these clearly to members of the management team is required of this function.
- Presenting product feature analysis and competitive analysis data to management and customer groups is a key responsibility of the position.
- Providing key direction to documentation and on-line information groups to maximize customer satisfaction with products and services.
- Maintaining an interface to customers and maintaining a relationship with key accounts to retain knowledge of current customer requirements and provide these to R&D and the management of the company.
- Developing relationships with existing sales forces at partner companies. An example would be building a relationship with sales professionals who service markets where value-added services such as legal discovery, data analysis or threat recognition (business risk services through electronic data analysis) would be valuable to both companies. These could represent subscription service opportunities or direct software sales opportunities.
- Working with others in product management and the company as a whole to transform the product roadmap into a release schedule that is predictable for the sales and marketing functions within the company.
- Demonstrating an ability to entertain non-traditional revenue sharing models and support sales and business development groups in the negotiation of pricing structures for such business models (advertising or subscription and per-user sales models).
- Other duties as assigned by the CEO and President, Vice President of Marketing or other top management of the company who may have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the person assigned to this position.
